Our Story
In The Tree Apothecary, is a small Sonoma-grown business that offers handmade and heartfelt herbal medicine.
Our Mission is to assist our clients in achieving this optimal health and wellness by mitigating the major causes of chronic disease and illness while maximizing the long-term benefits for our clients, our beautiful community and the environment.
Our Goal is to change the perspective of the modern health-care paradigm from treating symptoms as disease through profit driven models…to one of discovering the causes of imbalance through the looking glass of Nature, bringing Wellness back through Harmonically Balanced natural medicines and therapeutics to those who seek it.
A True Passion for Healing
Pioneering a return to forgotten art of healing, In The Tree Apothecary brings together Healers and Teachers to give clients the scientific education, spiritual understanding, tangible healing methods and personalized medicines necessary to solve many of the complex modern health problems that plague so many in our community.
We are a nonprofit collective and retail apothecary with a membership base made up of Community Leaders, Healers and Teachers dedicated to connecting you with the power of all natural, plant based medicine.
We feel blessed to work with the finest herbalists who are producing high quality botanical medicines, herbal remedies, and organic whole plant based wellness products many of whom are graduates of the locally renowned California School of Herbal studies. We work closely with teachers, producers, suppliers and botanical experts to educate and inform our community.
Philosophy
We strongly believe in educating our members in the use of pure, all natural, organic, whole plant herbal medicine and its relation to their needs.
We believe that the human organism is a highly adaptive self-healing system whose natural tendency is to maintain a harmonic state of Balance. Health is then the harmonic balance between the mind, body and spirit and when optimal is at “Ease” and “Dis-Ease” is the human organism that has fallen out of balance.
A balanced patient is a healthy patient and we feel everyone should have the knowledge, resources and medicine that guide you back to health and harmony.

Cheech & Chong’s Dispensoria / In The Tree Apothecary
The Role
At Cheech & Chong’s Dispensoria / In The Tree Apothecary, we’re building something a little different: part cannabis dispensary, part traditional herbal apothecary, and part neighborhood wellness shop.
We’re looking for an Herbal Wellness Consultant / Budtender who is genuinely passionate about plants, herbalism, natural wellness, cannabis, and helping people make informed choices.
This role will serve as one of the primary faces of our retail floor and reception area. Our apothecary will feature products from local herbalists, makers, growers and wildcrafters, including herbal tinctures, teas, topicals, salves, infused oils, locally foraged and wildcrafted products, soaps, skincare, haircare, body care and other plant-based wellness goods.
We are especially interested in applicants with formal herbal education or meaningful hands-on experience with herbal medicine, botanical products, natural wellness or plant-based traditions.
You might be a graduate of an herbal studies program, a practicing community herbalist, an herbal medicine student, a natural products professional, a plant nerd, a gardener, a forager, or simply the person everyone in your life already comes to with questions about herbs.
You do not need to know everything. You do need to be curious, responsible, approachable and excited to keep learning.
